The government has never run any program successfully, efficiently, or within budget. What makes you think that healthcare will be any different? Providing Universal Health Care to all children and low-income citizens who cannot afford it is a HUGE burden on the rest of working America. Not only will you be paying for your own health-care, but you will have a new tax burden listed in your paycheck for healthcare for everybody else. It scares me that it is required! No choice.

No. Universal healthcare means mediocre care and higher taxes.

NO! Universal Health Care means EVERYONE gets to visit the doctor and go to the hospital when necessary and doesn't have to CONSTANTLY WORRY about ending up on the street due to the RIDICULOUS COST of health care in this country.

This doesn't go far enough. We should have universal health care. No health care plan is going to address and take care of the problems we have unless we cover EVERY SINGLE PERSON and cover them all equally. The US spends more per capita on health care than any other country in the world and we can't even get all of our citizens covered. ~45 million myself included have absolutely no health care coverage. Millions more have shitty coverage or have to sue the fucking companies just to get their

costs covered. Anyone who opposes finding a way to cover every single citizen with equal health care is a horrible selfish person. And don't give me BS about look what happens in (insert country name here). We don't have to run our system exactly like theirs and we can learn from their mistakes. Besides, I'd rather deal with their problems then ours. I'd rather wait 6 months for a non-emergency surgery then never be able to get it at all.

Completely socialize medicine (don't just tweak the insurance side.)

My friend was suggesting a single payer system, and it reminded me that in some ways weapon's contracting in the US is probably a single payer system. What I would like to see is the government be the provider as well. I think then the costs would come down, but as long as there is a profit incentive involved, it's going to be a ripoff. Insuring some and not everyone is just cost shifting, although kids should come 1st.
