On the contrary, it might be the best option against scarcity in natural resources!

I agree.
I also think that given the world's human population and the rate by which it's growing, it's inevitable to destroy the rest of the world sooner or later. We must in the least destroy all forests and fill the earth with cultivable land in order to feed ourselves.

organic farming is the ONLY option the world has, since the chemicals used in industrial farming are killing the micro-organisms in the soil, thus rendering the soil sterile for as long as some more of those natural and very potent beauties are not re-introduced through organic farming (and wormy-compost...)

Our solutions are flawed. Our problems are not scarcity of resources, but the human tendency to procreate like common vermin. Even fossil fuels would have not to little effect if humans did not overpopulate the planet. Again, man is not the only thing that matters. Biodiversity is important. Give people tax discounts if they have less than 2 kids and other social benefits.

quite often the farmer just breaks even, so why do it, simple he knows he can count on that income to hold him up in bad times. Conventional farming is in the end unsubstainable, due to many reasons as we here in Australia are now finding out.

The technology to create larger surplus of food worldwide is being developed everyday. Are future worries on food consumption is what toxic material such as mercury, tiny pieces of plastic, etc. are going to be consumed by humans since the concentration of health hazards rises when it get to the top of the food chain. Organic farming seems to be more of a lifestyle choice for people who eat them.

Absolutely false. Organic cultures actually produce better and more food, and producing it also costs less. Problem is that soil treated with chemicals needs at least 5-10 years to recover. That's why when you switch you experience less production.

It could be if the central problem of over-population was addressed. But even in such a world, anything that uses less rather than more resources is worth investigation.

Organic farming has nothing to do with the amount of food required but the method employed. It basically uses the old methods of farming, without all the additives or chemicals. The only thing organic farming shouldn't be used for is Biogas for cars.

We just need to kill more people to lower food demand.
